Manufacturing Training for English Language Learners (M-TELL) graduated its third class on March 23rd at the Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center. Participants included 15 students from countries such as Iraq, Somalia, Togo, Cuba, Brazil and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Many of the M-TELL graduates were already working, but enrolled in the training to position themselves for jobs as supervisors with higher pay.
During their three-week training, they studied manufacturing terms in English, earned their OSHA 10 card and forklift certificate, and developed their leadership skills. On their final day, they had interviews with manufacturing employers. Two of the graduates have already started new jobs!
