On Tuesday, April 30, the Power of Work program held a graduation celebration for its latest class of participants at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky’s West Louisville Opportunity Center. A partnership between Goodwill and KentuckianaWorks, the Power of Work helps individuals transition off of government assistance into a stable career. Participants get job-readiness training, help identifying their skills, personalized support from career coaches, and much more.
At the ceremony, participants presented some of the work they completed while in the program, including plans they made for their own nonprofits that would benefit the community. Leaders from the partner organizations, as well as past program alumni, also spoke to the graduates and offered words of encouragement.
