KYCC interns host event promoting financial literacy for their peers

Yesterday, members of the Kentucky Youth Career Center’s Internship Academy hosted their “Reality Fair!” at 410 W. Chestnut St. in downtown Louisville.

The Reality Fair! was open to all youth 16-24 years old seeking assistance with financial literacy and budgeting skills. Attendees made their way around the room, which was set up with stations that focused on budgeting smartly for each major area of one’s life: housing, transportation, groceries, childcare, and more. After stopping at each station, youth had the opportunity to win door prizes and eat pizza.

The young people who created, planned, and marketed the event are part of the KYCC’s Internship Academy, which is a multi-week paid internship and professional development experience that youth can apply for. You can learn more about the Internship Academy, other KYCC resources, and future events at WeAreKYCC.org.
