KentuckianaWorks College Access Center assisting Louisville area residents with FAFSA application process

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2025-2026 school year is now available and the KentuckianaWorks College Access Center is helping Louisville area residents seeking to enroll in college.

“This time of year, when the FAFSA opens, is always the busiest for us,” said DeAnna Coles, Executive Director of the College Access Center. Although the deadline to submit the FAFSA is June 30, 2025,  prospective students are encouraged to complete it as soon as possible in order to be eligible for the maximum amount of financial aid. “Applying to college can be stressful and confusing. We just want everyone across the city to know that we’re available. Whatever challenges you’re facing with the process, our staff can help you navigate them,” said Coles.

The College Access Center is offering expanded walk-in hours during the month of December. In addition to FAFSA assistance, the College Access Center helps clients complete their enrollment applications, search for scholarships, select the right school and program, learn about the job market, and more. A majority of the College Access Center’s clients are low income and/or first generation college students. Many are immigrants and refugees.

“The College Access Center is helping people overcome barriers and go to school,” said Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg. “Programs like this help improve the lives of Louisvillians and make our city more competitive.”
