Statement in Support of JCPS

The Board of KentuckianaWorks expresses our strong and unwavering support for Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) and their work to ensure quality, equitable educational opportunities for all students.

JCPS has made significant strides in recent years to improve student outcomes.  Their 4-year graduation rate is at an all-time high — 87.7%. The Class of 2024 had the highest postsecondary readiness rate in the history of the district — 77.2%.  The 15 Academies of Louisville high schools have raised their postsecondary readiness rates from 50% in 2017 to 78% in 2024.

We urge the community to voice concerns toward efforts that would short circuit this hard-won progress and support JCPS and other public schools across the Commonwealth to provide every student with the education they deserve.
