Workforce Investor Badge

The Workforce Investor Badge is awarded to Louisville area employers who are making concerted efforts to invest in their workers through a quality jobs framework.

Why a Coffee pour?

Coffee is a common workplace ritual that encourages taking a break to build community and practice kindness. The pouring is meant to evoke the concept of “bucket filling.” In this context, the bucket-fillers are employers, managers, and other colleagues who act in a way that fills an employee's metaphorical bucket by offering the resources and support they need.

What defines a high quality job?

There is no one-size-fits-all definition of what makes a “good job”. It may be slightly different for every worker. We rely on the National Fund for Workforce Solutions’ Job Design Framework and the U.S. Labor and Commerce Departments’ Good Job Principles as guides. Factors like compensation, benefits, workplace culture, racial equity and inclusion efforts, and training and advancement opportunities often play a role.

What can my organization do with the badge?

We encourage recipients to display the badge award on their websites, at their offices, and wherever else they feel it would be useful. KentuckianaWorks also works with recipients to highlight their organization and its award on our website, social media accounts, popular e-newsletters, and more.

What makes an employer eligible to receive the workforce investor badge?

The Workforce Investor Badge is an acknowledgement that an organization’s management structure strongly features job quality elements and the investment of resources necessary to offer high-quality employment.

Awarding the badge does not mean an employer has achieved all aspects of providing quality jobs. It is a snapshot of positive change and progress and a commitment to keep getting better. KentuckianaWorks reserves the right to revoke the badge if a recipient demonstrates behavior or enacts policies that are in direct conflict with quality job indicators.
